Colour Chic: Orange and Aqua

[red_spacer spacer_margin=”30″][/red_spacer]

From this week we are starting our new series, the Colour Chic, wherein we will highlight a particular colour combination that could make a room sing and how you can get that look by adding accent pieces to your home.

This week, the colour combinations we heart are Orange and Aqua. Use different shades and hues of this colour – either bright or pale, and this combination is sure to leave a cheery, happy feeling to your room. We certainly won’t suggest changing the entire furniture upholstery ( do it if you really want to!). Accentuate your space with a dash of this lovely colour combination, and you have a new look to your home.

For the slightly more adventurous, paint one of the walls in a very pale aqua colour – all the leading paint companies will have this colour. Check Berger, Asian Paints, Dulux. Alternatively, put up a wallpaper or painting in that shade. Accentuate it with a deep orange upholstered chair. You can pick any style of chair you like and maybe add a flower vase or decor piece to complete the look.

I have shared a few ideas, but your home is your canvas. Experiment a bit – use accent pieces to add the colour combinations you want to infuse into the room. Decor objects, soft furnishings and lights work wonders if used correctly.

I’d like to sign off by saying, do what makes your heart smile,  balance the rich and the humble, the deep with the pale and it would turn out just perfect.
