A busy week, and a busy weekend ahead!! With a packed schedule, sometimes we yearn for a bit of childhood fun, spending time with family and grandparents during the vacations and a whole lot of nostalgia creeps in. There was a certain calmness and serenity, romance and history in the buildings, in the furniture and the odd decor pieces. Some of us, like me would love to have somethings ‘old’ with the ‘new’, a bit of history and a bit of nostalgia that makes me the person I am today.
If this is what your heart is crying out for, then don’t stop reading. How about adding a few odd accents in your home to give it the ‘Old with the new’ feeling? Though I love everything ‘India’, I would love a bit of ‘english vintage’ or ‘shabby-chic’ thrown in here and there to make my home reflect me!
I spotted three stores in India (and I am sure there are many more) that have exceptionally gorgeous vintage fare. Distressed look, shabby chic, french vintage…you name it, and chances are they either have it in store or will be happy to create it for you. Be Vintage, Kaji and Anemos Lifestyle! Absolutely love the work they are doing! So do checkout their collection. More details at the end of this post.
Like I have said a few times before, ‘it is your home, your rules’, so do what your heart says, re-do your home or even a room with this look. So, what is it that you can do? Collect some antique (e.g. used, vintage, distressed look furniture) corner tables and perhaps even a clock! If you are anything like our family, then you wouldn’t resist having thermometers in every room, I mean every, single room! So, if a thermometer has to be a part of your tapestry (or furniture), fetch a pretty, historical piece. I would love an old relaxing chair that I have fond memories of. ‘Old’ look is happiness….Join in with me and get some ideas for your home…
If you’re reached this end of the post, I am sure you love the vintage look. I hope you were inspired enough to create this in your own home, giving it your spin. All the products mentioned above are made in India using a team of very talented artisans. What’s not to like? Made in India, for your home, to re-create the vintage look you have been after…
