Accessorize it right – amazing finds for your home

[red_spacer spacer_margin=”30″][/red_spacer]

There is enough we know already about accessorizing and in fact, we already do it. Most of our homes (at least mine) have decor pieces that we have collected over the years and refuse to let go of or a gift from somebody significant that you must display. Having said that, sometimes there are completely mismatched pieces that are an ‘eye-sore’, while you were thinking that’s you at your eclectic best.

Try to use items that say something about yourself. Use items that compliment your decor and which serve to add color and life to your home, but keep these basic rules in mind:

  • Choose a colour scheme and use different items in those shades and hues to tie the room together.
  • Layer different elements at varying heights to create depth.
  • Mix different textures and finishes while accessorizing, and create groupings of similar items
  • Add a spotlight or use lamps to highlight the focal point or brighten up interesting pieces.

We scouted for some unique pieces to add a vintage, old world charm to your home.
