Last week I had a mild skin allergy after using a new child-friendly liquid soap. Apparently, some chemical in it didn’t go too well with my skin. While these things happen in our lives, we sometimes move forward taking such events with a pinch of salt. I urge you to take a step back and think about the products we use. While doing this myself I came across Krya and thought of sharing this with you before ordering it online myself.
Krya was started by two IIM graduates – Preethi Sukumaran and Srinivas Krishnaswamy in 2009, introducing an organic detergent as a natural alternative to synthetic detergents. They use only organic or certified organic raw material that are plant-based and as close to their natural state. No water based products are created and use ingredients that have been described in Ayurvedic texts or have been used safely. The Price – The detergent is priced at Rs.290 for a 400 gram pack. A tad expensive than chemical detergents, but the cost balances out in the measure you use per wash. As per Preethi and Srinivas, the 400 gram pack lasts a consumer for 40 machine washes. However a chemical detergent lasts a user for anywhere between 12 – 17 washes.
Krya has introduced a dishwashing powder and very recently a Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) free hair wash (The Krya hairwash is a mixture of several gentle, certified organic plant origin materials like Sweet Flag, Indian gooseberry, Peppermint , Albizia leaves and Soapberries.) Sadly, couldn’t find the hair wash online yet. I read their post on facebook and I could relate with it. My hair has been coloured, permed, straightened and I know it is damaged.
Do share with us if you have tried the products before.
