We welcomed the much awaited cold winters in Delhi with heavy showers and hail this weekend. Till a few years back, I was usually dressed in black and grey in winters – boring black and grungy grey for some but beautiful black and gorgeous grey for me. They seemed to work well at work. I still love them but I feel that adding big doses of colour to your wardrobe just accentuates your cheerful, happy persona. We looked at winter street style inspirations, just for you lovely people.
Try out some of these interesting winter street styles – like an oversized knitted dress with leggings or a heavy knitted poncho. This Michael Kors poncho has a lovely turtle neck with faux leather pockets – soft, warm and stylish. As you can see, I still love the greys and black 🙂

Wrap a colourful, bright, embroidered or printed scarf, maybe an oversized scarf around your neck to add a dash of colour to your ensemble. I love the hand embroidery and sequins on this one!

Transform your regular light blue denims (or denims in any other colour) with a bright fuchsia knitted top or jumper. Of course, it has to be your pick of colour, but make sure you pick one that is bright. By the way, don’t miss the heels! They add to the gorgeous quotient too!

As a child I learnt Kathak, an indian classical dance form. I would wear a heavily sequined vest/ jacket on top of the ‘dance uniform’ for recitals and examinations. This black and gold vest reminded me of those days – add instant glamour to your plain off white/ white top with this lovely vest.

Bohemian at heart? Try wearing a lovely boho-styled skirt or a gypsy skirts (you get lovely ones at Timri in Bangalore) with a short leather jacket. Layer in a scarf or some long necklaces to complete the look.

Lots more winter street style inspirations that you can use everyday with your existing wardrobe! Of course, there is always an excuse to buy more.
We’ll be sharing more inspirations in the coming weeks. Till then, style yourself pretty!
