Gulrez and Nasir Ansari are handloom weavers from Maheshwar who have been carrying on the tradition of weaving from their grandparents’ time, way back from the 1950s. “Through these looms, we spin countless dreams”, is what they say. Today, this weaver brand manage about fifty looms and are recognised in the handloom circle for their use of colours, designs and the elegance quotient. They handle both individual and bulk orders.
We’ve known of Rehabar Handloom’s work for a little while now and can say with confidence that they possibly have the most extraordinary understanding of the colour palette. Here is a peak into their world of dupattas and saris (they do running fabric too, just in case you were wondering):
If you haven’t draped a Maheshwari yet, then do try and get one when you plan to shop next. If you do have one in your wardrobe, then would you agree that it drapes like a dream?
We are delighted to feature Rehabar Handloom in our Festive 2020 space. Do join us in spreading the Rehabar magic and let’s feel festive together!
